Sometimes architecture becomes most interesting when we stop looking at the building as a whole.
A staircase, a glass façade, the pattern of paving stones, the edge of a wall, the repetition of windows or the play of light on a surface can suddenly become an image in itself.
These photographs focus on such moments. Small architectural fragments that attracted my attention through shape, rhythm, material, perspective or contrast.
Taken out of their original context, familiar elements can become almost abstract. Function gives way to composition. Structure becomes geometry. An ordinary detail begins to suggest something entirely different.
The images are not meant to explain architecture. They are simply invitations to look more closely and to discover how much visual poetry can be hidden in the things we usually pass without noticing.
